Amagasaki:

  • Sonoda Racecourse: 7 minutes by bus or 5 minutes by car from the Sonoda Station on the Hankyu Kobe Main Line. A free bus service is available from the Sonoda Station on race days.

Arao:

Asahikawa:

  • Asahikawa Racecourse: 30 minutes by bus or 20 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station. A free bus service is available from JR Asahikawa Station on race days.

Fuchu:

  • Tokyo Racecourse: Offering a view of Mt. Fuji to the southwest, this is JRA's largest track, famous for the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby, GI), Japan Cup (International GI), Japan Cup Dirt (GI), Yasuda Kinen (GI), and other races. Races take place on the long 530 meter home stretch.

Fukushima:

  • Fukushima Racecourse: A gently undulating (1 meter), right handed standard course, with the top of the rise on the other side of the course from the main stand. The steeplechase course linking the third and first turns is famous for its distinctive banks.

Funabashi:

  • Funabashi Racecourse: 10 minute walk from the Minami-Funabashi Station on the Keiyo Line, or a 5 minute walk from the Funabashi-Keibajo Station on the Keisei Line.
  • Nakayama Racecourse: This track holds the Arima Kinen (G1), Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas, GI), Sprinters Stakes (GI) and Nakayama Grand Jump (J-GI). The rising slope along the final 200 meters of the home stretch adds to the interest of races. The steeplechase course has three inclining steeps, unique to Nakayama.

Fushimi:

  • Kyoto Racecourse: This track features a pond in the infield and an attractive appearance appropriate to Kyoto. Host to the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger, GI), Mile Championship (GI), Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup (GI), and other events, overcoming the inclination at the third turn is said to be the deciding factor on this track.

Hakodate:

  • Hakodate Racecourse: A right handed oval course, the track rises 3.5 meters between the second and fourth turns, but generally features gentle slopes. Planted with a western grass variety, the turf course is 29 meters wide.

Hashima:

  • Kasamatsu Racecourse: A 3 minute walk from the Kasamatsu Station on the Meitetsu Line. A free bus service is available from Meitetsu Bus Center on race days.

Himeji:

  • Himeji Racecourse: 15 minutes by bus or 15 minutes by car from JR Himeji Station. A free bus service is available from JR Himeji Station on race days.

Hiroshima:

  • Fukuyama Racecourse: 10 minutes by bus or 7 minutes by car from JR Fukuyama Station. A free bus service is available from JR Fukuyama Station on race days.

Iwamizawa:

  • Iwamizawa Racecourse: 13 minutes by bus or 12 minutes by car from JR Iwamizawa Station. A free bus service is available from JR Iwamizawa Station on race days.

Kanazawa:

  • Kanazawa Racecourse: 20 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station, or 7 minutes by car from Morimoto Station. A free bus service is available from JR Kanazawa Station on race days.

Kawasaki:

Kitakyushu:

  • Kokura Racecourse: A right handed standard course with a slight gradient on the south and northwest legs of the course.

Kitami:

  • Kitami Racecourse: 25 minutes by bus (Ktami bus, Wakamatsu line) or 20 minutes by car from JR Kitami Station. A free bus service is available from JR Kitami Station on race days.

Kochi:

Mizusawa:

  • Mizusawa Racecourse: 15 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by car from JR MizusawaStation or 5 minutes by car from JR Mizusawa-Esashi Station. A free bus service is available from JR Mizusawa Station on race days.

Morioka:

Mombetsu:

  • Mombetsu Racecourse: 10 minutes by car from the Tomikawa Station on the JR Hidaka Line, a 2 hour drive from Sapporo City, or a 70 minute drive from Chitose City.

Nagoya:

  • Nagoya Racecourse: 30 minutes by bus or 20 minutes by car from JR Nagoya Station. A free bus service is available from the Meitetsu Bus Center and the Jingumae Station on the Meitetsu Line on race days.

Niigata:

  • Niigata Racecourse: Buses take patrons directly to Niigata Racecourse in 40 minutes from Niigata Station, 30 minutes from Shibata Station, or 15 minutes from Toyosaka Station (all JR lines, summer race meetings only). Alternatively, the racecourse can be reached in 20 minutes by car from Niigata Airport.

Obihiro:

  • Obihiro Racecourse: 40 minutes on foot, 10 minutes by bus (Tokachi bus, Eigyo-syo iki (destination)) or 8 minutes by car from JR Obihiro Station.

Sapporo:

  • Sapporo Racecourse: The first in Japan to use a western turf variety, this centrally located right handed racecourse is the perfect venue for patrons to watch the opening skirmishes between unraced 2 year old thoroughbreds.

Sinagawa:

  • Ohi Racecourse: The right handed circuit situated in the Tokyo Bay area and the largest of the regional racecourses, Ohi Racecourse is a favourite with younger race goers. "Twinkle Races", the popular nighttime events at Ohi Racecourse, are held between April and October each year.

Takarazuka:

  • Hanshin Racecourse: Home to Takarazuka Kinen (International GI), this track has a triangular configuration, unusual for Japan, where oval tracks predominate. The sharp rise on the home stretch also makes for exciting races.

Takasaki:

  • Takasaki Racecourse: 10 minute walk from JR Takasaki Station, a 10 minute drive from the Takasaki Interchange by Kanetsu Highway, or a 15 minute drive from the Fujioka Interchange by Joshinetsu Highway.

Tosu:

Toyoake:

  • Chukyo Racecourse: The Takamatsunomiya Kinen (GI) is held at this turf track, whose elevation varies by a comparatively small three meters, which produces very fast paced racing.

Urawa:

  • Urawa Racecourse: 5 minutes by bus or a 10 minute walk from JR Minami-Urawa Station, or a 10 minute walk from JR Urawa Station. A free bus service is available from JR Minami-Urawa Station on race days.

Utsunomiya:

  • Utsunomiya Racecourse: 30 minutes by bus from JR Utsunomiya Station, or a 6 minute walk from the Nishi-Kawada Station on the Tobu Line. A free bus service is available from JR Utsunomiya Station on race days.
